Rapid Reconstitution
A number of drugs are unstable in an aqueous environment, thus requiring processing into a powder. These drugs are commonly referred to as powders for injection (PI). The powder matrix stabilizes the drug until which point it is reconstituted with a diluent just before administration. An incompletely dissolved product can be hazardous to the patient, thereby making reconstitution a critical performance parameter for these products.
